49ers’ Jimmy Garoppolo expresses frustration with Saints player’s low blow: ‘There’s no place for it’

San Francisco 49ers star Jimmy Garoppolo took issue with a cheap shot he took from New Orleans Saints defensive lineman Malcolm Roach during the team’s 13-0 win Sunday.

Garoppolo was struggling out of the pocket when Roach went in for the punch. Garoppolo appeared limping after the play and told reporters about it.

“You have to be smart as a player, take care of each other,” he said after the game, via 49ers Web Zone. “There’s no place for it. I’m fine. A little sore but nothing bad.”

Garoppolo threw for 222 yards and a touchdown to Jauan Jennings, who made an excellent catch. However, it was the defense that really came out on top for the 49ers.
