This March 17 marks a new anniversary of the terrorist attack on the Israeli embassy in Buenos Aires

On March 17, 1992 un terrorist attack happened by the organization hezbollah I destroy the Israeli embassy in Buenos Aires. Twenty-nine people were killed in the attack and more than 200 injured.

In order to facilitate the resources that enable such implementation, on this anniversary the Embassy of Israel in Argentina launches a website with pedagogical materials and tools that can collaborate with teacher planning and be implemented in the scope of both formal and non-formal education. . The educational portal includes historical information and materials linked to different awareness campaigns. Likewise, the site has a space for the testimony of survivors and family members and, on the other hand, a section dedicated to the memory of those who lost their lives in the attack on the voice and the memory of their closest loved ones. In this way, life stories that were interrupted by the irrational violence of terrorism will be immortalized on a website whose goal is to make young generations aware of the importance of maintaining a perspective of respect for differences, without space for the discourses of hate and expressions of violence.

The page incorporates an audiovisual made especially for secondary school students in which an attempt is made to approach what was the first international terrorist attack that Argentina suffered. It should be noted that for the preparation of this material the embassy had the support of the Ministry of Education of the Nation, as well as the collaboration of various media outlets that provided journalistic material from the time.

The formal presentation of the website and the educational video will take place on Wednesday the 15th at the Sarmiento Palace with the participation of the National Minister of Education, Jaime Perczyk, diplomatic authorities and heads of education portfolios from various Argentine provinces.

On the 30th anniversary of the attack, the singer-songwriter Alexander Lerner he composed an allusive piece of music that was performed in its original version together with his Argentine-Israeli colleague paul rosenberg and the famous Israeli artist Idan Rachel. It was presented to society on March 18, 2022 at the Colon Theater at an event held in memory of the victims of the attack.

On this new anniversary Lerner will play this song in Israelwhile, from Argentina, the Israeli embassy will publicly share for the first time the video clip that accompanies the song “A day like any day”, which was recorded both in Argentine and Israeli locations.
